Work stuff

Had a few good OKR check-ins with various clients this week. It’s becoming easier to provide providing guardrails that let people experiment and wander within useful limits without going totally off piste in a framekwork, a programme, or a discussion.

I’m still working on my first large government tender. Feels like a full time job. Many hoops to jump through but, as a tax-payer, I appreciate why they’re necessary and keep things fair.

Hastings

For the end of Easter break, my son and I took a visit to Hastings for a couple of days. I’d never been and we had an awesome time!

Highlights include:

🌊 Strolling the beautiful pebble beach
Riding the West Hill Cliff Railway up the hill to see
🏰 Exploring the crumbling ruins of the castle built by William the Conqueror, complete with spooky dungeons! 👻
🚂 Taking the miniature railway up and down the beach (about 6 times)
🖼️ Visiting Hastings Contemporary and enjoying the work of Elias Sime and Sir Quentin Blake as well as great art made by school kids via the “Pearls of the Sea” school engagement programme.
Seeing some beautiful street art being made by Master Skosh
Sauntering through the “twittens”
Seeing the unique “Net Shops”
🐟 🍟 The requisite eating of fish & chips!
📚 Poking around bookstores & antique shops on George Street
🥐 Brunch at the Bullet Coffee House
