Week Notes 03 - 10 May 2024

This week I:

• Had a long chat with the CEO of a 30 year old company about how to ricochet draft OKRs around the org for feedback, inviting ownership and interpretation at every level without sacrificing focus.
• Published a blog post about consent at work.
• Posted a little piano improvisation on LinkedIn and youtube

I also:

• Celebrated my son’s 12th birthday with another trip to Hastings and a visit to the View from the Shard
• Watched some Morris Dancing in preparation for the Jack in the Green festival held annually in Hastings.
• Remembered and re-watched the classic, trippy, and terrifying animated Adventures of Mark Twain from the 80s. IYKYK.
• Hung out with some friends who moved to Poland last year and came back for a brief visit.
• Enjoyed this article from the ever-insightful Christina Wodtke on Pre-work for Setting OKRs. So often I get called in to help orgs adopt OKRs when they haven’t considered these things first.
• Caught up with a lontime friend who introduced me to Perspectiva, “a community of expert generalists working on an urgent one hundred year project to improve the relationships between systems, souls and society in theory and practice.” as well as Dave Gray’s, School of the Possible and their weekly Campfire Calls.
• I finished reading the Psychology of Money and dug back into the The Creative Act: A Way of Being. More books I’ve loved.
