Curtain call at Cosi Fan Tutte
12 July 2024

Work

This week I went deeper with my government client. I’m gradually developing stronger relationships and gently helping busy directors to think about their OKRs so they can meet next week and begin to negotiate & align. I’ve also met a couple of delivery managers and started looking for things we can remove from our existing governance process to make space for a lighter weight approach with OKRs.

Not work

My wife scored some discounted tickets to Cosí Fan Tutte at the Royal Ballet & Opera so we all went as a family and had a great time. It wasn’t quite as silly as as the production of the Magic Flute we saw at ENO back in March but our 12 year old son still really enjoyed it!

I recorded a short improvisation based on the beautiful folk tune “Black is the Color of my True Love’s Hair” popularised by Nina Simone:

I had lunch with a group of friends including my photographer friend, Neel Mistry. After a delicious lunch at Rambutan we went to Tate Modern to revisit the Antony McCall “Solid Light” exhibition and the “Expressionists” show. Both really inspiring.

I was inspired enough to come home and use ChatGPT to create a very minimalist video piece using P5JS. It’s not very sophisticated but I was able to produce the video below in about 10 minutes which never would’ve been possible without AI.

I’m calling it “Lighthouse”. Imagine it projected at large scale in a dark room.

This week I’ve also enjoyed digging into the “Sound and Process” podcast from the lines (Norns) community.

My son is getting more into cycling which is great. Here are a few pix from a recent outing.
